Neille Giffune joined the NBC 25 team in June of 2012 as the Assistant News Director. In her short time in Mid-Michigan, Neille has served as the newsroom’s “utility infielder,” handling anchoring, reporting, producing, editing and shooting.
Prior to venturing into management, Neille served as an award-winning sports anchor/reporter. She has been all over the country making stops in Billings, MT, Elmira, NY, Springfield, MA, and most recently in Reading, PA. Neille has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists and Associated Press for her work as a sports anchor/reporter.
Neille is a 2002 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she served as the captain of the women’s track and field team. She earned a bachelors degree in communications and a minor in public law. Neille also earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 2004.
Neille is a native of Foxboro, MA, home of the New England Patriots. She is excited to be in Michigan and is looking forward to perfecting her ever-evolving golf game and discover all her new home has to offer.

FUN FACTS FROM AN INTERVIEW WITH NEILLE:
Favorite movie? “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Person you most want to have dinner with? My maternal grandfather.
Favorite story you’ve covered? I did a series of stories about a Wyoming high school wrestler who was paralyzed during a wrestling meet and then had experimental stem cell surgery in Portugal in the hopes that he would one day walk again.
Interesting talent you possess? I am a former gymnast and can still do backhand springs!
Best vacation you’ve taken? I love national parks. I have been to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Glacier, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon -- just to name a few.
Movie star crush? Joshua Jackson or Sean William Scott.
Place you’d most like to visit? Italy.
Way you like your coffee? French vanilla iced coffee with skim milk and one Splenda (preferably Dunkin Donuts).
How do you do to “treat” yourself? Shopping! Outlets are the best!
No. 1 thing on your “bucket” list? I would love to go to Egypt.
Favorite Michigan spot to visit/vacation? I’ve been to Grand Haven, which was awesome, but I am looking forward to exploring more places.
