Jason Adams
Meteorologist

School: Florida State University
Hometown: Crestview, FL

Jason’s love for the weather started at a very young age. He remembers sitting on the front porch of his grandmother’s home in Harrisburg, PA, watching a severe storm roll over the city. After getting yelled at by his Mom to get back inside before he got struck by lightning, he decided at age 5 that he wanted to be a TV weatherman.

After graduating from high school, Jason pursued a degree in Meteorology. He was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Meteorology, and a minor in Mathematics from FSU. While Jason was in his senior year at FSU, he began his on air work at the ABC affiliate WTXL-TV, where he served as a morning and weekend Meteorologist.

After working there for nearly two years, and having his share of tropical storm and hurricane experience, an opportunity to take on severe weather in tornado alley came his way. The CBS affiliate KFSM-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas hired Jason as their morning Meteorologist, where he covered tornados and blizzards for nearly three years. Jason experienced two foot snow fall blizzards, temperatures as low as 25 below, destructive EF-4/5 tornados, and temperatures as hot as 115º, all in Arkansas!

Jason has now decided to take on another weather phenomenon on his bucket list, lake effect snow! He is now the morning Meteorologist here at NBC 25, and you can watch Jason Monday through Friday from 5 – 7 am. He looks forward to bringing his expertise of severe weather to mid Michigan, but also looks forward to covering snow.

In his spare time, his favorite hobby is surfing. Hard to do that in Arkansas, but he looks forward to surfing on the Great Lakes! He loves the outdoors, traveling, is an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society, an advocate for abused children, and a shark/ocean conservationist.
