Latest local news, weather and high school sports for Flint and the Tri-cities

NBC25 is teaming up with local law enforcement on a new initiative called Crime Files.
Every week, NBC25 will profile a wanted criminal and tell you how you can help put them behind bars anonymously.  It's an effort intended to help clean up our streets and you at home are an instrumental part of catching the bad guys.
Authorities say a crime in progress should always be reported to 911, but if you know something about a crime that's already happened, you can share that information anonymously by submitting a tip online at MICHTIP or over the phone at one of the hotlines located on the right side of the screen.
Your name never has to be used, you never have to reveal your location or contact info, you only write down what you want to share.  The smallest details could give police big leads.
Crimestoppers is also an important tool.  When you dial 1-800-422-JAIL the phone rings at a center in Canada.  Your number is stripped of the call and the details are taken down, then sent to the appropriate authorities.  If your tip leads to an arrest and conviction, you could be rewarded with up to $1,000!
