To file a bankruptcy case, there are three costs:
1. A filing fee paid to the United States Bankruptcy Court presently $299 for a Chapter 7 and $274 for a Chapter 13. Installment options available.
2. Certificates needed to file and discharge your case: credit counseling briefing and debtor education: This will cost around 42.50.
3. Legal fees to your lawyer. I have flat fees that will cover the work on your entire case. I can break the fee down into small monthly installments you can afford. Attorney fees are based on a number of factors and all cases are different. I want to base your fees only on the work we will have to perform on your case.
To determine an appropriate fee I ask that you complete a questionnaire so that I can better understand your financial situation. The less complicated your case is, the lower your attorney fees will be. And, after your fees are determined in advance, you will know for sure the total cost of my services before we file your case.
