FLINT -- Las Vegas is now on the list of places passengers can fly to from Flint Bishop International Airport.

Southwest Airlines has announced Las Vegas will serve as the airline's western destination starting Aug. 11.

Flights to Las Vegas from Flint were discontinued in 2008 when oil prices made it too expensive to use it as a destination, according to airport officials.

Flights from Flint will take off at 10:50 a.m. and land about noon.

Departures will be at 11:35 a.m., landing at 6:30 p.m. in Michigan.
