CLIO -- Officials with the Department of Natural Resources say many hunters have been stopping by the deer weigh station along I-75 in Clio.

Experts say Saturday more than 200 deer were tallied at the weigh station.

DNR officials say in addition to counting the deer they are checking for disease.

"We're checking kill numbers of course and checking overall condition of the herd and when you put those numbers together over the years it gives biologists information on how best to manage the herd," says Bruce Warren with the DNR.

The weigh station in Clio will be open from 9a.m. to 5p.m. on Sunday.
