HURON COUNTY -- The Huron County Sheriff's department is warning ice fishers that ice depth on Saginaw Bay and Wild Fowl Bay is varying from place to place.

The ice depths on Saginaw Bay have been measured ranging from 3 inches to 9 inches.

Because the ice has not frozen equally, caution is being urged.

This past weekend an ATV was found floating in broken ice several miles offshore.

It took the sheriff's office some time to determine that the owner of the ATV was OK.
