BURTON -- Powers Catholic began its Division Five state title defense in the playoffs with a blowout over Freeland 35-7.

It’s the Chargers’ 18th consecutive win. dating back to last season. They will play Frankenmuth in the district final.

Linden dominated Lansing Waverly on their way to a 55-13 win.

The Division Three Eagles will play DeWitt in the district final next week.

Division Two Fenton survived a thriller against Farmington Hills Harrison at home 22-19.

The Flint Metro League co-champions take on Walled Lake Western in next week’s district final.

Saginaw Valley Lutheran’s dream season ends with a loss to Saginaw Swan Valley 44-14.

The Vikings play the Goodrich Martians in the Division Four district final.
