LANSING (AP) -- Hunters may now begin applying for the 2014 Pure Michigan Hunt drawing.

The drawings have been held annually since 2009. Three winners are chosen each year. Each receives a license for elk, bear, spring and fall turkey and antlerless deer hunting. They also get first pick at a hunting spot on opening morning at any managed waterfowl area.

Businesses and organizations that sponsor the event give additional prizes such as firearms, crossbows, camouflage clothing and pop-up blinds.

Pure Michigan Hunt applications can be purchased for $4 anywhere hunting licenses are sold. They're also available online at http://www.mdnr-elicense.com, under the miscellaneous tab, item number 300.

Applicants must provide a driver's license number and birth date. Each application that people buy helps fund wildlife habitat restoration and improvement programs.
