LINCOLN PARK (AP) -- A Boy Scout can earn 121 merit badges and an 18-year-old from Lincoln Park has done just that.
The head of the Detroit Area Council of Boy Scouts of America says Andrew Schigelone is the first Scout to earn every badge in the council's 99-year history. Schigelone says he was 12 when he set out to earn every merit badge before turning 18. The Gabriel Richard High School senior got his final badge for archaeology Dec. 11.
The Boy Scouts are honoring Schigelone's accomplishment Thursday and recognizing him as an Eagle Scout.
