The weather is finally getting nice out, the sun is shining and of course this weekend, if you don't have plans as of yet... Bay City is going to be the HOT place to be.
The 38th Annual Al Kayner St. Patrick's Day Race will kick off this Saturday, March 21st, Downtown Bay City with the kids Leprechaun run starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Bay County Community Center. Then on Sunday is the big race day! The race is presented by the Bay Area Runner's Club and sponsored by the Catholic Federal Credit Union.
If you are into health there will also be a fitness expo from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Community Center as well located at 800 John F. Kennedy Dr. in Bay City.
Participants can take part in an 8k run, a 5k run and a 5k walk.
Ann Gasta, Race Director says, "as for right now, we are 3,000 in registration which is well ahead of past numbers and we are expecting the crowd to be close to 5,000."
A really cool thing about the race is everyone walks away a winner! That's right! Whether you decide to run or walk, cross the finish line first or last, everyone walks away with a finisher medal... even the little ones!
The races kick off Sunday, March 20th at 11:45 a.m. If you're interested in taking part you can register all the way up to race day.
Also this weekend is the 57th Bay City St. Patrick's Day Parade starting at 2:00 p.m. It's going to be fun for the whole family and what a great way to kick off spring!
