GENESEE COUNTY -- The Genesee County Animal Shelter is expected to add a dog-fighting hotline this week.

The phone number will be added in an attempt to cut down on dog-fighting cases and help save the lives of abused animals.

Commissioner Brenda Clark proposed the idea. The shelter director says dog-fighting is a growing epidemic that needs to be stopped.

As of Thursday afternoon, the dog-fighting hotline has gone live.  The number is 810-257-3572.
