A hometown hero has returned to Flint. Sgt. Joseph Lilly's body was flown in Saturday.

He was a combat engineer that was attacked by insurgents in Afghanistan June 12th.

His loved ones and many veterans came to the AV Flight School in Flint to see his arrival.

It was a noticeably sad day for those that watched his body arrive in silence and escorted out as each motorcycle bellowed through Flint.

Sgt. Lilly leaves behind his wife and a 3-year-old son.

His visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 11-3 p.m and 5-8 at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint. His funeral is Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
