***End update***

Consumers Energy is on the scene of a gas line rupture in Bay City.

The rupture occurred near Columbus Ave. and N. Johnson St.  Shortly after 6 p.m. residents within a two block radius were evacuated.

Consumers says construction in the area likely caused the rupture on an underground plastic gas line.

No timetable has been set for repair.
