West Nile virus hits home

The West Nile virus is spread by mosquitoes and can be very dangerous, according to the CDC more than 40 people have died this year due to the virus.

As of Monday morning, the Michigan Department of Community Health is confirming three deaths and 57 cases in the state,  

Randy Knepper of  The Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission said there is a way to avoid a mosquito bite, "Wear light colored loose fitting clothes, and keep insect repellent available," said Knepper.
