FLINT -- The Flint City Council met Monday night and decided to go ahead with a lawsuit against the appointment of Emergency Financial Manager Ed Kurtz.

The council voted to file an injunction against Public Act 72.

According to Council President Scott Kinkade the council is looking to outside legal services in order to file the injunction due to lack of counsel and finances.

The injunction will be filed either Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

During the meeting Council Member Jackie Poplar addressed council, as a citizen, with chains around her neck, demanding answers from city leaders.

City Council will also investigate resolutions made by former EFM Mike Brown during his last days in office.

Prior to the council meeting there were a handful of protesters who showed up with pillows and blankets saying they would sleep in City Hall to protest the the EFM.
