DETROIT -- Police have identified a motorist who died in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on an interstate in Detroit.
State police say the crash happened early Thursday after witnesses reported a vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 96 in the westbound lanes.
Police say the driver of a westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the wrong-way driver was listed in critical condition at a hospital. On Friday, police identified the man who died as 27-year-old David Arcand of Dearborn Heights.
The other driver is identified as a 32-year-old Detroit man. The crash is under investigation.
