DETROIT -- Two American automakers that emerged from bankruptcy protection in 2009 have earned bragging rights for a pair of new vehicles.
General Motors' Cadillac ATS and Chrysler's Ram 1500 pickup win the 20-13 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year.
The annual award is voted on by 49 Auto Industry journalists.
The ATS, which is built in Lansing, beat out the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord for top honors, while the Ram 1500 bested the Ford C-Max and the Mazda CX-5.
This Cadillac's first time and Chryslers third time winning the award.
