Thirty nurses at McLaren Bay Region hospital in Bay City are losing their jobs.

A representative with McLaren Bay Region tells us 30 licensed practical nurses positions also known as LPNs are being phased out. That goes into effect, April 1. Those positions will be replaced with registered nurses, also known as RNs.

The hospital will offer a severance package to those losing their jobs.
