St. Patrick's Day alcohol sales will wait until noon in Flint.
FLINT -- The City of Flint announced today that they were denied a single-day permit to start selling alcohol at 7 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day.
Michigan law doesn't allow Sunday alcohol sales before noon without a permit.
The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) has ruled that Flint cannot have a single-day exception.
In order for Flint to have sales before noon on St. Patrick's Day the city would have to allow 7 a.m. sales every Sunday, not just on St. Patrick's Day, according to the City of Flint.
This means restaurants and bars will have to wait until noon before serving any alcohol to their customers.
