Thanks to the generosity of the community, Dort Federal Credit Union raised a record $16,000 through its December snowman campaign.
Dort is giving the funds raised to three local organizations; St. Vincent DePaul, Carriage Town, and the Shelter of Flint.
Officials of the organizations say December is a difficult month for raising money so the $5,300 checks will make a big difference in providing shelter, food and services to the community.
Dort Federal Credit Union has been running the snowman campaign for more than ten years.
