(AP) -- NEW HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say one person was found dead after crews responded to a mid-Michigan house fire.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports the body was found Tuesday in Gratiot County's New Haven Township, about 40 miles northwest of Lansing.

The name of the person who died wasn't immediately released and the cause of death wasn't known. The cause of the blaze also is under investigation.
