A Flint author says it's personal experience that inspired her to write her book titled, "Warning Signs: What every woman should know--A Dating Guide."

Danielle Ward says she started working on the book in 2004 when she was in college.

She says her "up-and-down" relationships were something she wanted to share with others to hopefully encourage healthy relationships.

In her book, she uses a traffic signal to signify when you should "stop, proceed with caution, and go ahead."
