March and April mark the beginning of severe weather season across the United States. However, severe weather can happen any day of the year. So March 3-9 has been designated as National Severe Weather Preparedness week. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, along with FEMA, want to make sure that you and your family are prepared for anything that mother nature throws your way. They are launching the "Be A Force Of Nature" campaign this week. It is a program with information that can save your life, and inform you on how to react when a tornado, severe thunderstorm, or other natural disaster heads to your neighborhood. We will be highlighting the event all week on air. For more information on how to keep your family safe, here's a link to NOAA's website... http://www.nws.noaa.gov/com/weatherreadynation/force.html. I'll be interviewing the Lead Meteorologist of the Detroit National Weather Service Tuesday, and will have more local safety information later this week.
