The new 2013 Buick Encore
The dash of the new Buick Encore
CLIO -- The temperature outside our NBC 25 studios was 1 degree. So a heated steering wheel was comforting. But this isn't some pricey rich-man's car. It's a small luxury, crossover SUV, the new Buick Encore.
Joe Rau, a salesman from Garber Buick in Saginaw says it gets great mpg: 25 in the city and 33 on the highway. We noticed the interior was attractive, with lots of features. Price tag: under 30 grand.
US News says "while it’s not as powerful or spacious as some higher-ranking SUVs, the all-new Buick Encore pleases reviewers with controlled handling and an attractive, feature-packed interior".
The vehicle, made in South Korea, comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Despite its small size, many say that the front seats are spacious and comfortable, though the back seats were a bit tight. While SUVs like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 have a lot more cargo space, we found the Encore has a decent-sized trunk area. Certainly big enough for a couple of sets of golf clubs.
