A familar face will soon head-up the areas largest charity organization. The head of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint, Jamie Gaskin is shifting to take on a leadership roll at the United Way of Genesee County.

In a news release, the Boys and Girls Club says it's taken swift and meaningful actions to ensure the success of the local Boys & Girls Club. The Board of Directors voted to designate Lottie Ferguson, the current Boys & Girls Club Board President, as the interim Executive Director. Ferguson has been a Board Member for the Boys & Girls Club for more than 10 years. Ferguson brings with her much knowledge about the organization, a familiarity with the staff, and a confident leadership style to help make this a smooth transition.

“We are all very thankful for the role Jamie has played in making the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint positive,
safe and fun places for Genesee County youth. Now, what is most important is ensuring a seamless transition
between executive directors, so the children who depend on us for meaningful after school activities can continue
to do so. The board and staff are all very excited about what the future holds for us,” said Ferguson.

Ferguson will be temporarily resigning her role as the Board President which will be filled by the current First
Vice President, Pam Murdock. “The Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors is sad to see Jamie leave, but we are
excited for him to have this opportunity with the United Way and work toward making great change in this
community. We are grateful for the dedication and tireless work he has put in to making the Boys & Girls Club
one of the premier youth serving organizations in the county. With a fully committed Board of Directors and
dedicated staff the Boys & Girls Club is in a strong position to continue doing great work for local youth during
this transition period,” said Murdock.
