SAGINAW -- It's going to cost potential pet owners a bit more to adopt a furry friend in Saginaw County, but owners will eventually come out ahead.

Adoptions for dogs will be $125 and cat adoptions will be $90, as opposed to $10 for both canines and felines in the past.

The new fees will include neutering procedures and vaccines, ensuring healthier pets.

The Saginaw County Board of Commissioners approved the new adoption fees last Tuesday.
