FLINT TOWNSHIP -- Various models from across the area showed off fashion items in red at Genesee Valley Mall in Flint Township Saturday, while raising awareness of Heart Disease in women at the same time.
The “Go Red for Women” event was organized by the American Heart Association and featured Mrs Michigan Galaxy 2009 Monica McKenzie of Bay City as the emcee. “A lot of women don’t realize that Heart Disease is the number one killer. A lot of women think its other diseases like cancer,” said Stacy Sawyer of the AHA.
NBC25’s Krystal Whitman served as a model for the event.
