Alleged child molester remains silent in court

SAGINAW -- A Saginaw man suspected of sexually assaulting a 10 year old girl remains behind bars after refusing to enter a plea Monday. 

65-year-old Johnnie Griffin remained silent before Judge Christopher Boyd Monday morning.  Griffin faces 1st degree Criminal Sexual Conduct charges after allegedly molesting the girl and giving her grandmother, Angela Blackwell, cocaine in exchange. 

Griffin was taken into custody early Saturday morning at a flint motel his bond has been set for $950,000. He faces life in prison if convicted. 

Blackwell is currently being lodged in the Saginaw County Jail. 

Both Griffin and Blackwell are scheduled to appear in court April 12th.
