SAGINAW COUNTY -- More alleged victims come forward as a sex for drugs case moves to trial.
Behind closed doors during Friday's preliminary hearing, 4 children testified against Angela Blackwell and Johnnie Griffin, claiming they were pandered by a grandmother in exchange for drugs.
The girls are between the ages of 9 to 14. Investigators tell NBC25, the girls stated that Angela Blackwell allowed Johnnie Griffin to have sex with each of them. In exchange, Griffin provided Blackwell with cocaine.
Three of the four witnesses are Blackwell’s grand-daughters.
Investigators believe these four girls are not the only victims. Detectives say they are continuing to review the case and are hoping to discover the other victims in order to bring closure.
In addition to the girls’ testimony, photographic evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia was presented in the Saginaw County District Court Friday morning.
Griffin faces criminal sexual conduct and firearms charges. Blackwell faces criminal sexual conduct and pandering charges. Blackwell’s attorney tells NBC25 his client denies pandering the girls to Griffin. Each of the suspects faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
After reviewing the preliminary testimonies, Judge A.T. Frank denied bond for the pair and bound the case over to trial. A trial date has not yet been announced.
