SAGINAW -- With primaries right around the corner, voter registration drives are being held across the state.

One took place at the Saginaw County Democratic Party Headquarters.

Saturday’s registration is part of the 50 million dollar Vote 2010 campaign.

The goal is to engage people around President Obama’s agenda, and to help get his allies elected to congress this fall.

Local volunteers will reach out to voters who elected Obama, register new voters, and to ask local residents to commit to vote in November.

"People will vote if they are encouraged, and if you don't let them know that it matters to other people that they vote, you get less people voting,” said Ronald Denner, a voter registration coordinator.

The group called Organizing for America put on the voter registrations across the state Saturday.
