One of mid-Michigan’s largest conventions is underway in Saginaw.
Jehovah’s Witnesses from around the region came to Saginaw last weekend, this weekend, and will return next weekend for their 2010 “Remain Close to Jehovah!” convention at the Dow Event Center.
Jehovah’s Witnesses from around the country have held or will hold similar conventions in 90 cities in the United States.
The conventions bring as many as 15,000 people to mid-Michigan, and provide a multi-million dollar boost to the local economy.
The goal of the event is to help believers grow stronger in their faith and discuss ways to help non-believers develop a relationship with God.
Admission to the convention is free, and no collections will be taken. It begins at 9:20 a.m. this weekend and next weekend.
