BAY CITY -- Some Mid-Michigan heroes are preparing for the worst situations.
Bay City fire crews and mutual aid responders are gearing up this month and going head-on into blazing homes.
They’re practicing how to rescue people and pets. They’re also focusing on how to prevent and handle fire-fighter injuries, and they’re learning the best ways to ventilate roofs.
Officials say it’s vital to have a rescue plan before disaster strikes so that lives can be saved quickly and efficiently.
The home they are working on is located at 906 Bradfield Rd. in Bay City. It has been donated by the Habitat for Humanity. The home was scheduled to be demolished in the up-coming weeks. Fire crews will tear down the home, and Habitat for Humanity will build a new one in its place.
