Saginaw firefighters are investigating what sparked a deadly fire on the 2300 block of Newton this morning.

They say its possible candles burning in the powerless home may have started the blaze.

Firefighters say they got the call around 6:30 a.m.  When they arrived on the scene the roof had already collapsed in on the burning home.

A man inside could not be saved in time.  His identity has not yet been released.
