The Michigan Supreme Court wants the Michigan Court of Appeals to explain why it rejected a forced unionism lawsuit.

The Mackinac Center for Public Policy in Midland filed a lawsuit saying 40,000 at-home daycare providers were forced into a union and to pay union dues.

Opponents of the measure say they had no say in the matter and do not get the benefits of public employees.

However the union says the vote was fair and square and that it's been fighting for daycare providers' rights.

The lawsuit was filed one year ago today.
