Flint Police say a Quik Stop clerk is in shock after she shot and killed an intruder at the Flint store on Davison Road.
It happened Monday night around 11:00 p.m. as the clerk worked her first full day at her new job at the store.
Police say the man jumped through the front window. The woman told detectives she didn’t know if he intended to rob, rape, or kill her. She had no where to run or hide, so she pulled out her gun and shot him.
The man killed has been identified as 38-year-old Derrick Walker. The 250 pound man, who is 6’4” tall, is a parolee with a long criminal history, including larceny, assault on a police officer, and assault with intent to rob.
Police are still investigating the shooting. The Genesee County Prosecutor will decide whether the woman will face any charges after the investigation is completed.
