Hundreds of potential employees were looking for a job at the Saginaw Valley State University career fair Friday.
SVSU hosted 75-vendors, which was up quite a bit from last year's 52.
Companies say, while the perception is that most jobs are leaving our state, there are still plenty of opportunities here.
Jeremy Sims, operations manager at Saginaw Control & Engineering says, "Wwe're looking for computer programmers, and we're looking for I.T. staff that can help as we add technology and grow our company, so a we add the technology, we need to enhance our support departments."
Companies say the most difficult part of their search is finding qualified applicants.
They say they encourage students to get a well-rounded education and gain several skills to make them more marketable.
