WATERFORD -- When New Jersey Governor Chris Christie took the Oakland County stage Friday to campaign for Rick Snyder, Rallying Republicans shouted out things like “our next president!” 10-months into his first term, Christie has found himself with a high national profile as he froze spending, pushed for tax cuts and reorganized government.
“It’s all about cutting spending, cutting taxes and making government smaller,” he said in an interview with NBC25. Christie said the same plan could work for Michigan. However, Democrats have called his tactics too brash and too partisan. Christie said being a governor is all about being tough.
“It’s not happy time to be governor,” he said. “It is decision time and we’re thrilled in New Jersey to be doing what we’re doing.” So what about those references to the presidency coming from the crowd? Click on the video link to hear his answer when asked directly if he would run for president.
