A local teacher admits to having sex with one of her students and will soon go to prison.

Former Freeland High School teacher, 34-year-old Marcie Rousseau, says she had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student from May 2009 to February 2010.

Saginaw County Judge William Crane asked her, "How do you plea to those counts?"

Rousseau responded, "Guilty."

The plea means Rousseau will not face a trial.

During the court proceeding, Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael Thomas asked Rousseau, "You are pleading guilty today Ms. Rousseau because you are in fact guilty of each and every one of the 21 counts which you have been charged?"

Rousseau answered, "correct."

The student who testified against her says they had sex around 100 times.

Marcie Rousseau, whose husband was in court, wore her wedding ring and kept her answers short.

"The defendant stepped up to the plate and took responsibility for the charges she was charged with," says Thomas.

Those charges include 21 counts: 15 counts of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of 4th degree CSC.

The prosecutor wanted Rousseau locked up until the sentencing date of December 16th.

Her lawyer disagreed. "She's not a risk to herself or anyone else," says defense attorney James Brisbois, Jr.

The judge agreed and continued her bond.

Rousseau will likely be sentenced to four to 15 years in prison.

Rousseau has already pleaded to charges in Midland County stemming from the same student.

Both judges will put together a pre-sentencing investigation report to decide the exact sentence.
