MERRILL -- Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel says bomb sniffing dogs are on the way to Merrill High School and Middle School.

This comes after a staff member found a misspelled, hand-written bomb threat on a Middle School boys' bathroom door that stated, "THARE IS A BOM IS SCHOOL" at 10:46 Tuesday morning.   The superintendent immediately notified 911.

The schools are on lockdown now.

Authorities are not sure of the validity of the note, but are continuing to investigate the situation.

NBC25 is at the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
