In MidMichigan, people are celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
At Saginaw's Ames United Methodist Church, several volunteers hosted a program with music, drama, poetry, and speech.
Pastor Larry Camel, leader of Saginaw's Parishioners on Patrol, was the keynote speaker.
Camel says of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "He was a faith-based leader that had a strong message. He was a strong voice for millions of people to focus on the issues going on in the community."
Camel says the key is to not focus on race, but rather focus on unity and love.
