The Michigan Supreme Court released a decision Saturday that sent a lawsuit filed by police against Dr. Dre up in smoke.
The Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by several Detroit police, including one who is now a Detroit City councilman.
It all stems from a police confrontation in 2000. It happened backstage at a concert involving hip hop artists Eminem and Dr. Dre.
Then a Detroit Police official, Councilman Gary Brown threatened to cut of power to Joe Louis Arena if concert organizers showed a sexually explicit video.
The confrontation caught on camera ended up in the “Up in Smoke” tour DVD.
The plaintiffs said this violated their right to privacy. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled 6-1 that there is no privacy when police are doing their jobs.
