Mt. Pleasant man turns himself in after fatally shooting his wife

CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP -- UPDATE: 8:44 p.m.

Authorities say the suspect is 56-year-old Gary Reen.

The victim is 51-year-old Cheryl Reen.

His bond is set at $2 million dollars.

Authorities in Isabella County arrest a man after he walks into the sheriff's department and says he shot his wife.

It happened shortly before 7 p.m. Friday night at 7120 E. River Road in Chippewa Township.

The sheriff's office says the victim is a 51 year old woman and the suspect is a 56 year old man.

They're a married couple from Mt. Pleasant.

Their names are not being released at this time.

Police say they found the man's wife shot in a pole barn next to their home.

The suspect is being held in the Isabella County Jail on an open murder charge.
