Shop owner Gerald Richmond says the thief should know he or she is lucky they weren’t caught in the act.

Original Story, Saturday, April 23, 2011

The Saginaw County Sheriff is asking for help finding the crook who robbed a local gun shop.  It happened early Saturday morning at Jerry’s Gun Shop at 13500 Amman Rd. in Chesaning Township.

The owner says someone stole three handguns, cash, and ammunition.

“I feel like someone hit me with a truck,” said Gerald Richmond, who has owned the rural gun shop for decades.  “He could use those guns to hold someone up, or shoot someone.”

Richmond hopes someone calls in a tip that helps find the person who stole from him.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering up to $2000.00 for  information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information should contact the Saginaw County Sheriff Department at 989-790-5446 or the ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS.
