Update May 26, 2011 4:30 p.m.

NBC25 put out the call and you responded.

A local church collected supplies for those affected by the tornado in Joplin, MO, but did not have a truck big enough, or the fuel, to get the items down there.

We just found out this afternoon, Duro-Last Roofing out of Saginaw has stepped forward donating a semi-truck and the fuel to get the supplies to Joplin.

The truck will be loaded Friday we'll show you that on NBC25 News at Six.

MidMichigan is taking action to help those devastated by severe weather in Joplin, Missouri.

Right now, the gymnasium at the Clio Community Church of God is not a place for play.

It's turned into a house of hope for those who have lost everything by devastating tornados in Joplin.

"It's amazing to me to see the overwhelming response," says Pam Lotter, director of the Clio Area Christian Childcare housed at the Clio Community Church of God.

Boxes keep coming in from people who simply want to help.

"People are donating, things are coming in, local businesses, and churches all over this area are calling, trucks loads coming."

For Pam Lotter, this relief effort is personal. Her cousins, Dan and Cindy Wermuth are pastors at a Family Worship Center in Joplin.

"Their church was spared and it's now turned into a shelter and they're helping people, so it is very personal to us."

As the donations pour in, another need rises, the need for a semi-truck and fuel to be donated to take all the items to those who need them in Missouri.

Volunteers hope through this report that need will be met.

Those who want to help can call Pam at 810-686-5394 or e-mail her at CACCKIDS@ATT.NET or you can drop off donations at 1215 W. Vienna Road in Clio.
