The father is currently in the Genesee County Jail pending charges.
FLINT TOWNSHIP -- A 2-year-old child has died, and the father is in police custody for possibly abusing the little girl.
Flint Township Police report they were called to the child’s grandmother’s home on the 1300 block of Donal Drive around 9:00 a.m. Sunday for a report of a child not breathing.
Emergency crews tried to revive the child, and rushed her to Hurley Medical Center. She died at the hospital.
The child’s 20-year-old father was arrested. He is currently being held at the Genesee County Jail, pending charges.
A Flint Township Police official tells NBC25 they found human bite marks on the child.
NBC25 spoke with neighbors. They say this house has received alot of police calls for being noisy, and having pit bulls loose in the yard. One neighbor, Clayton Brooks, tells our crews that the grandmother and 20-year-old man would often argue loudly at the home. Brooks says he's always watching the house to see what's going to happen next.
While NBC25 was at the scene, a woman peeled out of the home's driveway. She refused to talk on camera. Neighbors believe the woman was the child's grandmother.
