Local dancers are putting on scary make-up and practicing their moves for a big event.
The performers are getting ready for the 2011 Flint Zombie Walk October 8th.
This is the 3rd annual event where the group collects money from participants and gives proceeds to charity.
Kristina Lakey, Zombie Walk organizer says, "Eevery year we do a walk for a charity or to raise funds for something. This year its for Michigan School for the Deaf. So you get dressed up like a zombie for a donation of $10, walk like a zombie with 300 other people, then we throw a big party for you."
That party includes live entertainment, food, a drink, and giveaways.
This year, in honor of the charity the group is producing an internet commercial to Michael Jackson's song "Thriller." Jarren Martin is the choreographer.
It will be presented in sign language by students.
Student Tyler Naeyeart says, "When I teach other people I kind of take advantage of that situation so I can get some more practice in."
There's one more practice July 24th at the Kearsley Park Pavilion and the "zombies" will be ready for the October 8th event.
