Flint’s Mayor Dayne Walling was up bright and early Tuesday morning to cast his ballot in the primary election.

Mayor Walling voted at 9:00 am with his wife and family at the Sarvis Center. He’s trying to fend off Darryl Buchanan, David Davenport, Jung Ho Kim, Eric Mays, Don Pfeiffer, and Scott Smith for his seat.

It’s a mayoral race that's gotten negative at times, but it all comes down to the votes Tuesday.

Walling says his road in office has been a tough one, but he feels confident about being re-elected. Watch the video link to hear his statement on how he feel he's done during his term as mayor.

The top two candidates will face off in the general election in November.

In the meantime, polls stayed steady throughout the day in Flint for the mayoral election. Some voters told NBC25 there needs to be change in city, while others feel it's important for everyone to just get out and vote.

In the meantime, we want to know if you think Mayor Dayne Walling will get reelected. Leave us your comments here, or join the conversation on the NBC25 Facebook Page.

NBC25 will have complete election results on this link throughout Tuesday night.
