Monday, the State of Michigan launched a new website that allows the public to compare and contrast schools. Now, that site shows that more Mid-Michigan schools are failing.

Some of the local schools on the failing list might surprise you: Grand Blanc, Fenton, Swartz Creek, Linden, and nearly a dozen schools in Flint. According to the spreadsheet, these schools, and many others, didn’t meet the “Adequate Yearly Progress” and “No Child Left Behind” federal standards.

You can see how your school’s doing compared to other schools in the state by checking out the mischooldata.com website.  Also, take a look at the state’s spreadsheet for complete listings of accomplishments by category.

Give us your feedback:

How’s your school doing compared to other schools?

Why do you think so many local schools are failing?
