BURTON -- A full honors procession and funeral was held Tuesday for Cade, a Burton Police K9 killed in a training accident.

The beloved dog passed away last week, after being hit by a car.

He had worked with Burton Police Officer Tony Greenway for three years, and had even received the Officer of the Year award along with Officer Greenway in 2009.

Cade also made a number of visits to local schools.

"You don't understand unless you've been there. Its not a job, it's a way of life," said Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Antcliff while speaking at the funeral.

Tuesday morning, the Burton Police Department honored Cade with a full funeral procession, funeral, and burial service behind the Burton Police Department building.
